South Miami is now home to chef Marco Giugliano’s new Italian hotspot called Mano Libera which is being billed as more of an “Italian omakase” that will allow patrons to relax while the chef works his magic.
“I wanted to do something different, something Miami hasn’t seen yet,” Giugliano said, according to Miami New Times. “No more cacio e pepe, no more spaghetti and meatballs. This is about freedom — my freedom to create and my guests’ freedom to try something new.”
The new spot opened back on December 21st and is a noted departure from Giugliano’s Wynwood days but he and co-owner Roberto Maiorano believe there is something special about the new venue and venture into South Miami.
“Wynwood is packed,” Maiorano explains. “South Miami has this strong, year-round community. People here were waiting for something fresh—a spot that combines Italian tradition with a little twist.”
“In South Miami, everything feels the same — white tablecloths, neutral colors,” Giugliano added. “We wanted something loud, fun, and unapologetically Italian.”
“The idea is to make people feel like they’re in my kitchen,” Giugliano says. “I want to see their reactions, hear what they think. It’s all about the connection.”
You can try out Mano Libera at 7201 SW 59th Ave., Miami and find out more at their official website.
