After several months of rumors embodied in fact after a small mistake from the German PlayStation store that leaked the trailer for the game, Today, it’s a reality, the single-player campaign of Call of Duty MW 2 comes to PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Steam. Which brings out the best memories in a full period of confinement!
Activision confirms the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign originally developed by Infinity Ward and now re-mastered by Beenox. The game comes with improved resolution and detail, revamped animation, remastered audio, and much more.
The single-player campaign takes place 5 years after the events of the first Modern Warfare, Russia would be in the middle of a civil war: government loyalists against ultra-nationalists. At the same time in the Middle East, a coup led by an anti-Western movement is said to have taken place. This action triggered the American invasion of the country. Players enlist members of Task Force 141 on a series of missions to save the world from destruction.
“The Modern Warfare 2 campaign was incredible. We all remember the great impression that this adventure left us. It was a very special campaign for us and we thank Infinity Ward for creating such an incredible experience. Restoring and remastering this campaign for a new generation of players was a real pleasure for our team. We wanted to make sure that the feelings and the power of the story were correctly transcribed with full high-definition visuals and state-of-the-art audio quality”, says Thomas Wilson, co-director of Beenox.
This Remastered is available only in the dematerialized version therefore impossible to order in the physical version. This reissue will also offer you bonuses for the multiplayer modes of Call of Duty Modern Warfare as well as the new “Warzone” mode. This bonus is the “Classic Ghost Bundle” cosmetic pack which will offer you a “UDT Ghost” skin, weapon skins, and much more.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 campaign remastered is available on PlayStation 4 which has a temporary exclusivity of one month. Xbox One and PC players will have to wait until April 30 to spend € 24.99 and relive the 48 GB remaster.
The game is based on the same engine as Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare Remastered. It is therefore not a remake as we could have had with the Modern Warfare of 2019. Even if the fans are having there time with Warzone, this remaster is still welcome in this period of confinement.
