ASUS Republic of Gamers unveiled in a press release a new set of gaming laptops, ROG Zephyrus Duo 15. The first gaming laptop with two monitors to give a new dimension to its class with the usual high-performance ROG devices.
The company has previously provided dual-screen laptop computers such as Zenbook Pro Duo and Zenbook Duo, which were somewhat efficient gaming devices. The new ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 works just the same, as there is a 15.6-inch main screen that can come in either 4K UHD with 60Hz or 1080 x 1920 pixels at 300Hz.
The second screen, ScreenPad Plus, can display game statistics, software or web pages. It’s great for monitoring social media or email during a long gaming session. ScreenPad Plus comes integrated into the upper half of the 14.1-inch keyboard at 60Hz with a resolution of 3840 x 1100 pixels. It raises the top edge of the screen from the keyboard at an angle of 13 degrees, so it can give the user the freedom to choose the field of view between the two screens comfortably.
Asus is also working with video game developers to be able to integrate the chat of certain games in cooperation with the ScreenPad Plus.
In terms of specifications, ROG computers are self-evident, as the more expensive model includes a 4K UHD screen, a Core i9-10980HK processor, 32 GB of RAM, 2 terabytes of RAID and a graphics card ( NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER). This time, the computer has a 90-watt-hour battery that is charged via a USB-C port that supports Thunderbolt 3. This model can be purchased on June 1st for $ 3,700.
The $ 3,500 model includes a Core i9-10980HK processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER graphics, but with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage (PCIe). The $ 3000 computer includes a Core i7-10875H processor, 32 GB of RAM, 2 TB of storage (RAID) and a graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER).
Asus says the laptop will natively integrate XSplit and Overwolf software. The Taiwanese giant also confirmed that it has partnered with developers to create content with dual-screen interfaces and controls, and has partnered with Adobe to develop special content creation tools.
